Pipe leaks are like a pebble in your shoe: easily fixable (in most cases), but so annoying while they’re there! If you’ve recently found this problem at home and want a quick mend to keep it from ruining your things, then this post by Zott Construction DKI in Stormville is just for you!

How to Deal with a Leak at Home

Identify!

Obviously, first you need to know where the leak is coming from so you can act against it! Get to know your enemy to move forward accordingly.

Keep Dry

Once you know the origin is, place a bucket underneath to keep the water from dripping down your floors, walls, furniture, etc. While you’re there, clean the mess that was created.

Close Off

If possible, calmly look for the valve for that specific pipe and shut the water from its source! This way, you won’t be wasting the precious liquid while you finish fixing the leak.

Putty it Up!

First of all, make sure to clean and dry the pipe well. Then, get some epoxy putty and, after reading the instructions, cover the affected area generously to keep the water from spilling out! You may need to let it dry before opening the valve again.

Call the Experts

A tiny leak can cause big trouble if it’s not properly taken care of! What you did might have stopped it for now, but it’s better to get a permanent fix right away.

If you’re in this situation and are searching for an answer, trust in Zott Construction DKI! We’re experts in property restoration in Stormville who will to help you stop the problem before it gets too big!
